For three days the Vino Nobile represented the best of Italy in Prague, where the celebrated red wine featured at the Prague Wine Fair from 25 to 27 May. The event is organised by the Czech wine writer Michal Setka, from Wine&Degustation magazine. Dozens of wine professionals visited the Consorzio stand to get to know the featured wineries better, and to sample their wines at the tasting table.
The Prague event was the latest in a series of activities that began in September 2013 with a fact-finding mission organised by the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce. That was followed by wine tastings held in Budapest last September, leading to the Prague Wine Fair. These events are the results of the Consorzio's commitment to exploring the possibilities presented by the Eastern European markets, where there is an increasing interest in all things Tuscan. This is a wonderful opportunity to promote the territory of Montepulciano in a new market. The Consorzio ran its own tasting table for consortium member wines at the Fair. More than 15 member wineries participated, making the most of this opportunity to meet Prague wine lovers and professionals, who are showing a growing appreciation of the Vino Nobile.
