Consorzio Vino Nobile Montepulciano
Consorzio del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
The 'Azienda Agricola Romeo' is one of the smallest farms in the 'Vino Nobile di Montepulciano' denomination, and is dedicated solely to grapes and olives because of its position and the lay of its land. It is formed from two distinct pieces of terrain. The first, given over to olive trees, is calI ed 'Podere Totona' (580 m.) and is pleasantly situated on Mount 'Totona' across from Montepulciano. Here the olive orchards are cultivated by natural agronomic principles, without the use of any anti-parasites or insecticides. The second piece of land, used only as a vineyard, is 'Podere Corsica' (330 m.) and is located in the gentler hilIs at the foot of Montepulciano in the locality 'N ottola'. This is in the heart of the zone of 'Vino Nobile di Montepulciano', with an excellent exposition of its vineyards to the sun and a medium mixture of gravely soil which imparts to the wines born here alI those particular aromas that have made 'Vino Nobile di Montepulciano' world-famous, with an addition of body and fulIness that mixes happily with an elegance that is a joy to discover. The production is very limited, both because there are only 6.00 hectares of specialised vineyard, and because of the self-limited system of cultivation and production.
