Tenuta Trerose
Tenuta Trerose is located in an ancient villa of the 16th Century, at the top of a hill surrounded by vineyards, in the heart of the ideal area for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The farm, composed by a total of 170 hectares, addressed more that 55 hectares (on a total of 70 hectares of vineyard) to the production of Vino Nobile, while the others are addressed to the production of other varietals (even red and white). From 1994 the estate is owned by Angelini family, together with Val di Suga in Montalcino and Fattoria San Leonino in Castellina in Chianti.
The vocational to the innovation in Trerose is not limited to a strict selection of the grapes in the vineyards but it goes towards the research of new methods of production that can allow the winery to be more competitive on the markets.
Infact, the use of new technologies, combined with the traditional ones, is well showed in the cellars, where, besides to the traditional barrels, we have more than 1000 barriques, used for the aging of the best selections of Prugnolo Gentile for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano “Simposio” and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano “La Villa” (the first is a Sangiovese 100%, while the second is a blend of 90% of Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon); these wines, in the last few years, had a big success on the specialised magazines, in addition to the public of the wine-lovers.
